The University of Waterloo’s Department of Civil Engineering is your destination for a graduate student experience that will yield benefits long after graduation.

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil Engineering (Nuclear Engineering) is designed for working professionals in the nuclear industry. It is a coursework-based degree, completed part-time over eight terms.

The program is completed at Waterloo through the University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE). The UNENE is a network of Canadian universities, industry, government and international institutions dedicated to excellence in nuclear science, technology and engineering. 

Through this unique, innovative learning experience with emphasis on nuclear power reactor technology that goes beyond industry training, you'll be prepared for the next step in your career.

Admission requirements

  • An honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a 75% standing.
  • Applicants must be currently working in the nuclear industry.
